Stephen Ministry
Stephen
Ministry is a ministry of listening and caring carried out by trained lay
persons from our congregation. Each Stephen Minister is required to complete
a minimum of 50+ hours of intense training in both care-giving and
communication/listening skills. Stephen Minister are assigned to
care-receivers based on gender and the expertise of the Stephen Minister and
expected to build a caring relationship with the care-receiver. Including
the time needed for training, each Stephen Minister makes an initial two

Sunday Hospital
Visitation
These are
individuals who, following Sunday worship, visit MSUMC members and friends,
taking them a copy of the day’s worship bulletin and the thoughts and
prayers of the Madison Street congregation.

“I Can Cope” ~ Cancer
Support
For both
persons diagnosed with cancer and those who are their care-givers. This
eight-week series is offered at various times throughout the year. Contact

M.O.M.S. Group
This
group meets every Wednesday morning 9:30 a.m. for the purpose of being a
source of support and encouragement for moms of all ages. Childcare is

In Touch - Telecare
Ministry
This is a
ministry of telecare whereby inactive members of MSUMC are contacted by
telecare ministry team members on a quarterly basis simply for the purpose
of inquiring into the needs of individuals and/or families and how their
church family (MSUMC) might meet those needs.

Pastoral Hospital
Visitation
Hospital
visitation is conducted by our pastors each week. If you or someone you
know who is member or friend of Madison Street are hospitalized, please
forward that information to the pastors at the church office so that
appropriate pastoral responses can be made.

Caring For Military
Families
Madison
Street Church has a long history of reaching out in caring ways to the
unique needs of the those in the military community, especially during times
of deployment and re-entry. Our desire is to support military personnel and
their families in a variety of ways by providing printed materials and
resources and program opportunities that will address their particular and
specific needs.

Prayer Chain
A
dedicated group of women at Madison Street give themselves in prayer each
day for the hopes and hurts of our congregation and community. If you have a
confidential prayer request, be in touch with Virginia Quick at 647-1304 or
Vonnie Luton at 553-4042.
Please
remember that a call to the prayer chain is a confidential call and is not
shared with the church office or pastors.

Spiritual Guidance and
Direction
Spiritual
guidance and direction is available through the pastors of Madison Street
Church. Our pastor, Dr. Culbertson or Rev. Gilbert, is available upon your
request for prayer and conversation regarding any matter you may be facing.

Caring Ministers Ministry
Caring Ministers
are individuals who are trained then assigned to individual shut-ins,
members, and friends of Madison Street Church. They visit their special
friends at least monthly, offering to them the Sacrament of Holy Communion,
and inquiring as to their needs regarding health, home repair, and
transportation. Each homebound or shut-in member or friend also receives a
copy of the monthly Street Scene newsletter, and a weekly worship bulletin
and audio tape of the worship service.
